TERM 3 UPDATES – 2018

We are glad to welcome our old and new parents to Cathsam School for the last term of this year. Term three is normally very short and has very many activities. We look forward to working together to make it a memorable one more so to our children.

Please note the following Term Dates, Highlights and Reminders:

IMPORTANT DATES;

Tune up Exams: Wednesday 5^th to Friday 7^th September, 2018.
Week Day Remedial Classes: Monday 17^th September to Friday 19^th October, 2018.
Mid Term Exams: Monday 24^th to Wednesday 26^th September, 2018.
Mid Term Break: Thursday 27th and Friday 28^th September, 2018.

NB: All pupils in boarding school except class 8 pupils will be picked on Wednesday 26^th September, 2018 at 4:00 pm and are expected back to school on Monday 1^st October, 2018 at 7:30 am as the rest of the school.

Pre- Primary 2 Transition Meeting: Saturday 6^th October, 2018 at 9:00 am. All parents with children at this level should plan to attend.

Class 5 Academic Clinic: Tuesday 9^th October, 2018 from 2:00 pm. All parents with children in this class should plan to attend this very important meeting.

Bursary Fund Walk: Saturday 13^th October, 2018 from 8:00 am.
End Term III Exams: Monday 22^nd October to Wednesday 24^th October, 2018.
Closing Day: Thursday 25^th October, 2018 from 9:00 am.
KCPE Exam: Monday 29^th October to Thursday 1^st November, 2018. All candidates will be picked by their parents on Thursday 1^stNovember, 2018 at 5:00 pm so as to give them ample time to clear with their teachers and the various departments.
Parents/ Teachers Open Day: Tuesday 6^th November, 2018 from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm.

End Term One Exams: Monday 26^th March to Wednesday 28^th March, 2018

Closing Day/Class Parties: Tursday 29^th March, 2018.Kindly pack enough snacks for your child(ren) so that they can share with the rest of the pupils. Class six pupils who are in boarding will break on this day.

Easter Holiday: Friday 30^th March, Monday 2^nd April, 2018. We wish all our pupils, parents and Staff a Happy Easter Holiday.

Class 7 & 8 Holiday Remedial: Friday 30^th March,to Friday 6^th April, 2018. All Parents with children in these classes are advised to pick them from School on Friday 6^th April, 2018 at 4.00p.m

Sports and Ballet Club Outings: Saturday 31^st March 2018. Members of the Soccer Team will be at the Barclays Sports Club for Soccer friendly matches while those in skating will be at The Panari Hotel for Skating and Skiing.

Parents/Teachers Open Day: Tuesday 3^rd April, 2018, from 7.00 am to 4.00 p.m. All Parents/Guardians are encouraged to attend in person and not to send representatives.

Wildlife Club: Members of this club will be visiting Lake Magadi on Friday 6^th April, 2018.

Scouts Camp: Scouts will be camping at the YMCA camp site in Naivasha from Saturday 7^thApril to Monday 9^th 2018.

Open Camp for Music: This will take place in school from Monday 9^th April, to Friday 20^th April, 2018. Parents are reminded to pay upfront in school.

Class 6-8 Mombasa Outing: Thursday 9^th August to Monday 12^th August, 2018. All Parents with children in these classes are encouraged to pay for them. They will use the SGR to and fro Nairobi and Mombasa.

Happy New Year 2018!!!

We are privileged through God’s mercy to usher in yet another year. We don’t take it for granted because it takes God. Last year was a great year for Cathsam School and as we welcome you so that we can journey together, we are expecting fantastic times and great accomplishments moving forward. I welcome all our children, staff and parents both new and old to a year we are to turn 20 years. Happy Birthday Cathsam School !

Mid-term Exam:- Monday 19^th February, 2018 to Wednesday 21^st February 2018
Mid-term Break for pupils in Baby care to class four:- Thursday 22^nd February 2018 to Friday 23^rd February 2108

Mid-term Break for pupils in classes 5-8: Friday 23^rd February 2018

NB: There will be a fire safety and training for all members of staff and all pupils in classes 5-8 on Thursday 22^nd February 2018 from 7.30 a.m to 1.00 p.m. Parents with children in classes 5 and 6 and who are not in boarding can organize on how children come to school in the morning and how they will go home at 1.00pm.

All boarders will be picked on Thursday 22^nd Feb, 2018 at 1.00 p.m by their parents or guardians from school. The training will be done by the National Disaster Management, which is a government agency dealing with disaster preparedness.

School fees;- All parents are reminded to clear their school fees balances to avoid inconveniencing their children in this initial learning term of the year.

End term Exams: Monday 26^th March, 2018 – Wednesday 28^th March, 2018

Closing Day: Thursday 29^th March 2018.

I joined Cathsam School since Baby Class and now I have just finished class 7. Learning at Cathsam School is just awesome. We are trained not only in academics, but also to become holistic children! May God bless Cathsam School!

Graduation & Annual Prayer Day

The school held a Graduation & Annual Payer Day Ceremony on 25th October 2017. During the ceremony the Preunit and Class 8 pupils were graduated to the next level and prayers were made for KCPE candidates. Also gifts were offered to pupils for fundraising towards the School’s Bursary Fund. The ceremony was presided over by Rev. Peter Wangethi and a good number of our parents were in attendance! May God bless you all who attended the ceremony.

Admissions in the school start on Monday 13th November 2017. Welcome!

The school will open on these dates come next year:

Tuesday 9th January, 2018 for old pupils.

Wednesday 10th January, 2018 for new pupils

Bursary Fund Walk

The school conducted its usual Annual Bursary Fund Walk which aims at collecting fund to support the education less privileged children in the community. The walk took place on Saturday 7th October 2 017. Cathsam members of staff, the learners and a number of parents participated. May God richly blessed all who got involved in the noble event in one way or the other!
